Hi,

Thanks in advance for the response.

SUMMARY:

I am having trouble creating a project on a development web server. When creating the project in VInterDev, I get a "Server Error(Error Code: 80070005). [No space between the "Error" and "(Error Code)"] Here are some details I can tell you and what I already know:

SPECS:

Dev Server -- Win2K Advanced Server SP2, IIS 5.0, Posting Acceptor 2.0, FP SE 2002 (v 5.0.2.2623), Remote Machine Debugging. THIS IS NOT A PROXY SERVER.

Local Machine -- Win2K SP2, Visual Studio 6.

NOTES:

I have looked this issue up at Microsoft. There are two articles that I have been through thoroughly, and I am still experiencing the error.

1) PRB: Troubleshooting "Unable to Contact Web Server" in Visual InterDev ( -- I have set my web proxy settings to "Do not use proxy server for local (intranet) addresses" -- which is fine. This is not proxy issue.

2) PRB: Troubleshooting "Unable to Contact Web Server" in Visual InterDev ( -- while this has been very helpful in testing/understanding Front Page Server Extensions, it has not helped me with my continuing issue. I have tried installing both FP SE 2000 and FP 2002 (which is backward compatible, according to MS) on the dev box -- only to receive the same error I have always received: Server Error(Error Code: 80070005).

I have also tried the "Check Server Extensions" method on the dev box (in he Management Console), and I get a confirmation that there are no issues.

Lastly, I am able create projects on other Win 2K servers -- both non-proxy and proxy.

Any thoughts? THANKS FOR YOU HELP!!

Regards,
gregas

This sounds like a permissions problem.
Perhaps the anonymous users IUSER_xxx and IWAM_xx do not

- have create subdirectory permissions
- execute permissions in the fpse executable subdirectory

I wouln't know why this may be, or if this is the problem - but you could do worse than to try looking into this. (Content Management)
