Hi EveryBody,

I'm using sybase AS 12.5 running on Solaris 8 and I'm facing the following problem.
If I try to use "isql" from the servers console, Iget the following message:
---------------------------------------

pplmas% isql

The context allocation routine failed when it tried to load localization files!!
One or more following problems may caused the failure

Your sybase home directory is /opt/sybase. Check the environment variable SYBASE if it is not the one you want!
Using locale name "en_IE.ISO8859-15" defined in environment variable LANG
Locale name "en_IE.ISO8859-15" doesn't exist in your /opt/sybase/locales/locales.dat file
An error occurred when attempting to allocate localization-related structures.

---------------------------------------------------------

In the same time if login using telent from any other "PC" with the same user, it works fine.!

What do think ?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks forwardly
Ati

Seems that some environmental variables may be missing or different. Are you logging on to the unix server with the same userid as you use at the console?
Type env (or Solaris equivalent) in both cases and compare the output.
