I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correction forum.

We use an application that uses ISPF panels, but the developer has disabled split screen (F2).

I was told there is a way to get around this, but have been unable to find it.

Is anyone familiar with how to enable this?

Thanks ...

If your question is how to split your screen when in that application, the answer is to enter the "SPLIT" command on the command line, assuming that the developer did not take away the command line as well.

Another possibility is using "KEYS" command to redefine the PF key definitions within that application.

I can not think of any reason that the developer would have had for disabling split screen mode, so perhaps it is just a coding error and either the developer or someone else can fix it.

Hope this helps!

Ever onward,

Hi everyone ...

Thanks for your responses on this.

jrohrbach ... in response to your comment, the development group removed the command line from all of the panels and the prompt only allows for a one-character entry from the menu.

The reason I was given as to why the SPLIT functionality was removed is that this application uses all lines on the panel. Some of the confirmation messages when users submit jobs on some panels can be 3 and 4 lines long, they didn't want the users to be able to miss messages they might need to see.

I'm no expert but I don't understandt he logic there. From my experience using SPLIT, you can split in a way that shows the bottom of the panel.

In response to rexxhead, thank you for the link. I checked it out and I think that's a bit over my head seeing is I didn't understand most of what I was reading. I don't do any ISPF programming.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance ...
