Hello...
I installed Apache on one of my networked computers at home. Since then, my internet connection (DSL) keeps stalling out. It will work fine for several minutes and then go dead for a minute or two. I'm running the latest version of Apache on WinXP Pro. My network uses a Netgear RT314 router. I also have a Dynamic IP and utlilize Direct Update dynamic dns client updater to keep my IP number current with Zoneedit.com. I can be downloading a large file with another computer and humming along at 150k/sec only to start up the server computer and watch the download speeds immediately get cut in half and often times stalling out completely. Not sure what's happening...is it Apache??? Is it Direct Update??? I can turn them off individually and can't see any difference. If I shut the server pc down....then everything returns to normal. Any pointers from the experts would be appreciated. PS...Could it be that my ISP is purposely crippling my connection???
