Earlier this month, our internet provider Cogent had contractual issues with Level 3 ISP and traffic was blocked. Therefore, we were unable to connect to several partners (FTP/HTTP) and they were unable to connect to us.
We were able to re-route some of the connections through a backup non-Cogent internet connection, however, this was very manual. I understand that this type of contractual blockage is possible with any ISP and is likely to occur again.
If anyone has experienced this in the past, I would appreciate some insight on how this was handled.
