Isolating individual letters in a word

I need to create individual vectors for each letter in a word. Can I do that without having to create each letter?
I attached an example of something I need to break apart so I can change each individual letter.

...for custom work on letters or words, (changing their shape etc), select word and choose:

...type > create outlines...

...then object > ungroup...

...each letter will be an individual compound path, vector shape...

...just to add to my above comment, you can obviously select more than one word and perform outlining of type, could be whole paragraphs if you wanted...
