Isolating computer on a network?

I have three computers: Windows98(computer1), Linux(computer2) and a PLC{computer3(programmable Logical controller)}. Computer1 takes data from computer3, processes it and pass onto computer2. How can I make computer2 and computer3 don't talk to each other or don't see each other. Every helps would be greatly appreciated.
Can I use two network cards to isolate them or use a router?

2 cards would do it. But you could also change protocols in use. Or block by a router. Or lock out access with the linux. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.
 
If you were going to use a router, have computer 1 and 3 in the same network and computer 3 in a different one eg. computer 1&3 192.168.0.X and computer 2 in 192.168.1.X and route the packets from computer 1 to computer 2 using a rounter ...... that will get computer 2 not seeing 1&2... otherwise 2 network cards will do the trick :) Hope I explained that right lmao :)

arg! just spent 10 minutes typing out a step by step, and realized that it wouldn't work in your situation...

I don't remember networking in win98 too well, but I think you can bind 2 addresses/netmasks to the same NIC. If you can figure out how to do this then just have

p1 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
P2 192.168.0.2 255.255.255.0
P3 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

this way, P2 and P3 will be in seperate class C networks, but P1 will be able to see both networks. If you can't bind a second address to the card, then adding a second NIC will solve the problem, just use the second address on the second NIC.

There should be a way that you could do this with the netmasks to use just 1 IP per machine, but without my TCP/IP manual and home network available to me for testing, I can't give any exact method for this
