Isolate a group's summary field and place it in a text box 1

I created a report with several groups and sub groups. When the report is refreshed, the group totals are refreshed as well. There is a chart in the report, which charts the main groups' data in the legend. Now, I need to create another "legend" that would contain data of the sub groups. I need to do this without creating another chart and it needs to contain data from SUBGROUPS only. So, I am trying to accomplish this by placing a text box with the chart, where I have the names of sub groups listed. Each sub group should equal to its summary. I wanted to place a formula in that text box, however I am running into a problem of not being able to isolate and move around any particular sub group's summary. Any ideas?

The easiest solution would be to insert a crosstab using the subgroup field as a row (or column) and using the value field as the summary. The crosstab can be inserted within the chart borders, and the chart can reside in the report header or report footer.

If you need more flexibility in arranging the "subgroup legend," another method is to develop a running total for each subgroup. Using the running total editor, select {table.value}, sum, evaluate based on a formula:

{table.subgroupfield} = "Subgroup 1"

Reset never.

Repeat for each subgroup instance. Using this method and assuming the report appears only once in the report, the chart must be placed in the report footer for the running totals to work. They can be added directly into the body of the chart and then you can add a text box for the related description.
