ISO: High Capacity Removable Media

Hi Folks,
I'm looking for high capacity removable media for achival storage. Not tape or CD as the files stored there will need to be accessed via programs. So the media will need to support filesystem creation. I have SCO 5.0.7 and have read some about DVD-RAM but I'm not clear on whether you can create filesystems or not, and am wondering if there is anything that supports more than 4.7Gb per side?
