You need PCPro for each system. They are different and available from an NEC dealer. The other package available is the MA-4000, but it is licensed by the number of ports you have.

The 8300 you can program with any terminal program, however as belvedere says, for the 8500 you need PCPro (and the specific version suited to the 8500).
