Is american ISDN different from european ISDN?
 
Yes, it is different. Mainly the signalling is different. Most ISDN in the U.S. use NI-1, NTI or AT&T switchtype. Europe mainly uses Net-3. Also most ISDN in the States are UBRI whereas in Europe, SBRI is more common. The B-channels (data ch) should be more or less the same.
