The hotel where I work leases ISDN lines from the local carrier for radio stations to use for remote broadcasts. Since ISDN is a dying tech, we're not getting the support for them that we used to. Several broadcast engineers I've spoken with have told me that ISDN is still the preferred tech for their purposes.

Does anyone know if I would be able to provide a replacement ISDN service using our Mitel 3300? Perhaps by interfacing with a Mitel BRI NSU?

I don't know enough about it to be sure that I'm asking the right questions, so suggestions in that area are welcomed too.

Respectfully.

We have used E1 and Quad BRI cards to act as a network side towards other pabx's and fax servers

you can route calls to from these using ARS and then out to the outside world on whatever trunks are available.

I dont think that will suffice for them as they will probably want the end-end quality of the ISDN call

if you come into your 3300 as sip and then out to them as ISDN there will still be the sip leg of the call which may suffer from lower quality .

The time is coming where they will have to bite the bullet and give up on ISDN , but its still probably 5-10 years away here in AU

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
