ISDN Terminal Adapter Issue

Hi,

I am trying to connect to a telephone system through a Draytek mini vigor 128 for the first time and it has been a nightmare.

I bought an Windows XP pc especially to do this as I could not find the drivers for windows 8 and I am still having no luck.

I have selected Draytek NDISWAN as the modem and entered the telephone number but it just times out.

If possible obtain an ISDN Basic Rate Telephone and use it to test the line coming in to the Draytek unit.

what kit are you tyring to connect to , i had this when i moved froma 2003-2008 server with a TA attached , it was all down to DLL`s , an easy fix once we worked out what the hell was going on

Thank you, I will have a look at ISDN basic rate telephones but I have tested the ISDN line and it works fine when connected to the phone system.

The PC is an old Dell on XP, its not with me now so I dont know more than that and I am trying to connect to an Avaya IP Office at the other side.

When I do the ISDN test that is available with the Draytek it comes up with a red light and says the channels are down but the ISDN does work fine through the phone system.

Any more ideas on how I can resolve this would be great.

If it shows RED then it could be just that the socket or the wiring needs to be changed.
It was my experience in the past the if the ISDN line was up and running and tested that the indication went Green straight away

How have you set up the connection on the xp machine ? and are you using the RemoteManager user to connect to with the windows dialup , is dial in turned on?

This could be an issue with point to point/point to multi point settings.

The ISDN line from the provider will likely be PTP, whereas the Vigor will be expecting PMP.

Can you get an S-Bus out of your IP Office and route that through to the ISDN 2 on another BRI port? That is how we have it and we use those very modems (on Win 7). Don't foget you will need the right cable and 100Ohm resistor when using S-Bus from the IP Office.
