Hi, I'm setting up my linux box as an ISDN router. At this point, I have all my services running, but I don't know what I need on the software side, or how to do it. Are there any ISDN config tools, or a webmin module?

Thanks

Hi,

You don't say which distro you are using so can't give you a definitive answer. Basically, however, you need the isdn4linux tools which originate from . There is also a comprehensive faq there --> .

For redhat, you'd install the isdn4k-utils rpm , e.g. for 7.2 --> ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/7.2/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/isdn4k-utils-3.1-46.i386.rpm

... and then use the internet druid stuff --> . Prior to 7.2 you would use the 'isdn-config' utility.

Others use different utilities, e.g. for Suse you'd use Yast2.

Redhat, and I imagine others, have settings for dial on demand or manual triggering of the connection. You can also use the underlying isdnctrl utility directly :

/usr/sbin/isdnctrl dial ippp0
/usr/sbin/isdnctrl hangup ippp0
/usr/sbin/isdnctrl status ippp0

Hope this helps
