Hi

I have managed to get my hands on a 2MFT-E1 card and was curious as to whether I could set it up in one of my 2600XM series routers. I realise I will have to get an AIM 30 voice module for DSPs and I already have a 2 voice module Currently with an FXO & an FXS in it.

Is this possible and is there a minimum IOS for this?

is it a vwic? If so yes you can use it on the 2600 with an aim module.

Yes it is a Vwic but the router just isn't seeing the card. It begins to look like I have a DOA card. Tried it in two 2600XMs and neither shows me the card when I do a show controllers. Would I need to have the DSPs fitted before it will see the card?

What is the exact part number of the VWIC? if it a VWIC2-2MFT-E1 it is not supported on the 2600 platform.

VWIC-2MFT-E1 I'm going to try it in a 2800 at work when I get the chance. It currently has a single port card in it so I should be able to get this going in that! I did a search on the cisco site that seemed to say this card was OK for the 2600XM but that site is so confusing to me!

it is supported. You might have to enter the card-type command to activate the module. Been a while since I worked on a 2600. What's the current IOS?

One router is running 2600-adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T7.bin (this is the one running CME) and the other is running c2600-adventerprisek9_ivs-mz.124-19.bin (this is where I currently have the legacy equipment installed). I should add that this is just a lab so anything goes. I started studying for the Cvoice 6.0 having recently got my CCNA (old dog new tricks I've been in the voice industry over 35 years and can normally be found giving answers in the NEC pabx forum hence the stupid questions from someone who has the programmer tag after his username) However as they have just changed the exams I am just playing for the moment waiting for details of the new exam.
