I am developing an IVR solution that will use an Aculab Prosidy E1 board to interface with an MD110. There is a facility in the IVR solution to transfer to an operator station. I would like to implement transfer using "path replace" so as not to tie up the inbound lines.

Should I choose ISDN (TLU76/1) or DPNSS (TLU76/2) as my preferred hardware/signalling approach?

Are there any switch software version issues? My customer is at BC9.

Any other factors that I should consider in my decision?

Many thanks,
Rgds.

I am fairly sure path replacement is not supported in BC9. This was introduced in BC11. I would go with the ISDN solution over DPNSS. DPNSS has reached the end of its development?

Hi all!

It's quite hard to answer at Voxman question:
I'm going to do some consideration, but I don't know if these features on MD110 BC9 are market dependant.

In fact I have some situations that are in disagreement with Megglesfield answer.

In My Modest Opinion ISDN Q.931 itself doesn't implement the services that you need.
ISDN generic no, but Q.Sig yes.
In BC9 MD110 implements also Route Optimization on Q.Sig (TLU76/1) and uses UUI to do services in proprietary mode.

In terms of standardization MD110 DPNSS is better. I've tried to do interworking between MD110 and Philips IS3000 and it works fine.
Route optimization works, and in DPNSS you have also the possibility of transmit a notification message for switch on and off message waiting on an extension (but this mission works better via ICU :) )

For Route Optimization you have to implement the concept of "node number"
On MD110 there is SYIDI command some AS Parameter to activate it.

I'm curious to read opinions from Whorsdaddy or from SYAR2000.

Keep in mind that voicemail trunk interface
with DPNSS makes it impossible to
use it as a centralized vm in a q-sig/vpn based network .

For a one-lim solution it's okay .
But it sets restrictions for usage .

To then have it as networked vm only dpnss network will do .
(no q-sig or vpn)

I would suggest making it with q-sig for the reason
of expansion and futureproofness .

Or both .
....

It would also be a good idea to recommend the customer
an md110 upgrade of course .
