ISDN numbered interface

I am tring to configure two routers (2620 , 1604) to use an ISDN numbered interface as a back up a serial frame-relay connection.

I can get the ISDN connection connected using numbered interfaces however I can not route packets between the bri interfaces. I was able to use ip unnumbered ethernet 0 and route packets but thats not what I want.

I must be missing something ? I would be happy to post my configs or e-mail them for further review.

Any ideas or pointers on using BRI numbered interfaces

You got a default route set using the IP number or BRI interface? One of the normal link and one "floating" for the ISDN.

I think I am getting closer to solving my issues

From within both cisco routers I can now bring up the BRI interfaces and connect to the other router. I can also ping the opposite BRI interface. However on both sides I can not ping the BRI interface on the home router.

2620 - 10.0.11.1
1604 - 10.0.11.2
2620 can ping 10.0.11.2
1604 can ping 10.0.11.1
2620 can not ping itself 10.0.11.1
1604 can not ping itself 10.0.11.2

Note: However i can ping both Ip addresses from a netwrok workstation

Is this normal
