ok i need some help what i have is two locations both connected with isdn and netopia 3100 routers the gateway of these router are 192.0.0.1 and the other location is 192.0.1.1 . i have recently got DSL and installed it at main location and made the dsl router gateway 192.0.0.150 , now the problem is how do i get the other site with the ip addresses at 192.0.1.? to see the router at the main location . i need help bad.

First of all, are you using the 192.0/16 IP space as an private IP network space?! I think you are making an error, the private network space (RFC1812 I believe) allocates
192.168.0.0/16
10.0.0.0/8
and 172 something, which I never use.

You shouldn't use 192.0 - those are real IPs - unless your ISP gave them to you.

How are you connecting the two networks, with some sort of VPN??? All you should need to do is to tell the remote router about the new gateway peer by reprogramming THAT router directly.

You SHOULD have left the ISDN in place, reprogrammed the remote first, then told it to reboot with the new settings. Then you'd be able to bring up the new main router on DSL and tell it about the remote router.

ok sorry let me give you a little more to go on here. ok we have a main location with isdn netpoia 3100 router gateway 192.0.0.1 and a second location with a isdn netopia address 192.0.1.1 that ties both locations together . ok we just got dsl for internet only on the main location installed netgear router and made address 192.0.0.150 and all the main location users can access the internet how do i get the second location to see the dsl internet router 192.0.0.150 and the location with ip address 192.0.1.XX
hope this helps .

You need to apply routes from the 192.0.1.0 network to the 192.0.0.0 network. The router at 192.0.0.150 will also need a route to the 192.0.1.0 network via the ISDN network that connects the two sites.

iproute is mostly correct. I assume that all users on the 192.0.0.x/24 subnet can access the Internet fine. You need to configure a static route on your DSL router (192.0.0.150/24). The static route should state that to reach 192.0.1.0/24 network, the gateway should be 192.0.0.1 (Local Netopia). Local Netopia should already have a route to Remote Netopia so no further static route is required on Local Netopia. Just make sure Local Netopia's default gateway is 192.0.0.150. Finally on Remote Netopia make sure the default gateway is 192.0.0.1 so that any traffic destined for the Internet from the 192.0.1.0/24 network will route to your Local network.

One final note, theDaver makes an excellent point. I assume you have a private network behind NAT with your DSL router assigned a single public IP address. You may want to consider redesigning your network as theDaver mentions to avoid any possibility of you not being able to route to sites within the 192.0.0.0/24 and 192.0.1.0/24 subnets.
