Hi,

First at all i will tell you what i have and then i will tell my Problem.

Sco Openserver 5.0.5
Intelliport II (Computone)
ISDN Devices Assuscom TA-200ST

i have been using a remote conection over RDSI lines and the print service had been working fine, but since the last month the print service has a high delay and the clients at the POS are getting mad.

My conection is using a serial emulator but in order to solve the problem with the printing i am trying to configure SCO PPP over the ISDN devices but i am unable to do that.

The POS is windowsMe and the server is 5.05 with all the Patches installed.

If someone have a clue i will thank you.

What did your telco have to say about the sudden delays? It's far more likely to be ISDN related than a problem with SCO.

Has there been any changes on either side of the connection? Added a board to the SCO box, a new POS terminal, new modem, construcion in the area etc.

Have you noticed any messages on console, or on the Computone logs (if any)?

Computone has a nice utility for transparent printing (I've always preferred Computone to Digi) but there is a setting in the config file which sets the delay for the data passthrough. The default for a wyse 60 has usually been sufficient, although I have tinkered with the settings in the past. Check out the files under /etc/default/fip ?? If you need more help, let me know.

Thank You Megabitman and PatW, i did all of the things that you said but as usual the solutions are in the last place you search.

I was using Ice as emulator and i changed to Tiny-Term and modify the settings of the new emulator and all works.

Other problem was with the ISDN devices and i had to upgrade the Firmware .

Thank you very much !!!!!

One final thought for you... I've used Ice and Tiny Term, but I have found the best emulator package on the market (in my experience) has been Multiview 2000 by JSB. It has an excellent emulation (if you use the wyse 60 emulation, it does a nice job of the 80/132 screen display) and it can provide an lpd daemon for remote printers (if you're using a pc with tcp/ip as the protocol). Good luck
