An ISDN connection on our Nortel System is having a problem dialing out. There is dial tone, however dial tone is constantly heard even after dialing a complete number. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?

it sounds like the signals for the digits is not being sent over the line to the carrier. Try playing with your D-channel and switch type settings to see if that makes a difference.

Indeed - sometimes this can be that you have the device set for overlap when it should be set for en-bloc dialling.

Occasionally it's a problem with older (non-ETSI kit) connecting to newer ISDN (ETSI Compliant) lines.

Was this once a working system, or is this a new install?

Are we talking PRI or BRI

Has your PBX been upgraded lately?
