I have 2 BRI ISDN circuits that were ordered NATIONAL ISDN BRI-NI-1 with EKTS (electronic key telephone system) turned off. The telco is Verizons. Can I have secondary (virtual or softkey)numbers programmed in this package? The number (SPID phone number)associated with the circuits work fine. I need 12 more virtual numbers added to the BRI-U2 card. This Norstar system is replacing an AT&T system with soft keys.

Using a Nortel Option 81 switch, is there a special card that needs to be used to run isdn bri? Does the spid need to be 10 digits? CCOS? Thanks ACI.

Used BRI in an 61C long ago. You'll need a SILC or UILC (S/U interface line card) which gives you 8 lines and a MISP (muli-purpose isdn signaling processor).
Sorry, the details are out of my brain now.
Ask in the Nortel-forum here at tek-tips, or look at
or If nothing helps, dig in the NTPs :)
