ISA routes SMTP but cant use it itself

Hello, my ISA-Server has 1 LAN and 1 DSL Connection. From any workstation, SMTP works fine (consequently ISA lets it through). But telnet <mailserver> 25 from the ISA-console does NOT??? Packetfilter and Protocoll-Filter are enabled for any request. What can i do?

If i remember correctly.. MS recommends that u do not configure the ISA server to have access to the internet.. it can be done (our ISA server @ work has internet connection). U're on the right track tho.. if u're going to do it.. it should be done with a packet filter rule.
