My company has an internal web page published with a rule that allows any client to access our support site on our ISA SP1 W2000 SP4 server The site is accessible for a while, but then after 4 hours to a day the site becomes inaccessible via the public address (the site is still accessible with internal IP) with HTTP error 403 and ISA error 12202. The only way I've been able to get it working again is to stop and restart the Web Proxy service. The site is then accessible for another few hours. The event log shows nothing.
I don't think its could be the rule or destination set wrong because it is accessible sometimes. I understand that if a rule or setting was configured wrong it wouldn't be accessible ever. I have recently eradicated the Nimda virus from our servers, and updated all our servers with the latest security patches. It still has the same problem. I am stumped on this one because its a intermittent problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.
