ISA Combo NIC Installation 1

Im trying to install a 3com Etherlink 3 ISA combo NIC card.

My issues are that Win98se installs the card with no problem, but I still cannot get it to communicate with my small LAN, or connect to the

will not light up the switch, so it seems the RJ-45 transeiver is not working properly or activated. I removed all PCI adapter from PCI slots,and that did not help. The OS also installs it in PNP mode.I used the loopback 127.0.0.1,and recieved reply.Cannot ping gateway address.Checked for jumpers on the NIC,none.The connection works fine on another PC running PCI NIC. I can simply buy a PCI NIC,but I want to beat the odds.

Any Suggestions?

You could get the 2 floppy set of configuration and diagnostics and set the media to whatever you are using. Latest I have on hand is somewhere like 4.06.
And good utilities that allow you to force the resources.
