ISA 2000 - Clients user the ISA Firewall Client as well as have the IE 6 settings set to use our Proxy server. (Connections, LAN Settings etc.)
I want to get rid of the IE Web Proxy settings and just have users surfing using the Firewall client. I should be able to do this right? As soon as I remove the Web Proxy settings, the users cannot browse the internet (regardless weather or not the Firewall client is enabled or disabled) They get a 403 Forbidden - The ISA Server denies the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)
Internet Security and Acceleration Server error.

This occurs because there is a application filter which is enabled by default that redirects all firewall/secure NAT clients to the Web Proxy service for web requests. So when your users are using there web broswer they are still using the web proxy even though there web broswer isnt set up for it.
Just disable that service under the application filters tab.
Although i wouldnt recommended doing this, as the web proxy uses caching facilities were the firewall service wont.
