We are a Nortel shop with 8600 layer 3 switches in our core. These swiches have been doing various things which cause loss of connection to the servers and the backbone. We see variously high CPU (so high we can't keep device manager running), 48 port ethernet cards resetting themselfs, and the box rebooting. We have swapped CPU's, fiber, and ethernet cards. Nortel technical support says we have the best code level and advised resetting cards. We seem to be be having these problems over the last few weeks. Any information regarding Nortel anomalies will be very much appreciated.
