Hi all,

I have a web site with a virtual directory setup to connect to files to a separate server. I use the connect as option on the web server to read the files off a share on the other server.

My question is: Is the username and password stored on the web server encrypted?

Thanks.

username no, the password should be using the standard methods of passing a password. That connection over to teh server hosting the actual files should not be any different than a typical SMB session. If you have logon auditing enabled, specifically success auditing, assuming your page is functioning, you should see an event get logged for LocalSystem, SYSTEM, or Network Service coming in when the page is accessed (the account depends on your version of Windows that is hosting the WEB PAGE CALLING THE FILES).
