I'd worry a bit. No telling what this actually is and whether it contains trojans, spyware, etc.

The misinformation there is also a bit worrying: OE was not retired after WinXP but just tweaked and renamed Windows Mail in Vista. Win7 was when it was discarded by Microsoft.

These guys don't seem to be on top of things at all.

Besides, who wants to go back to a program that old if it hasn't been updated.
I would echo the "be careful" comment.

HMMM...they do want ten pounds donation for the activation code too. is there am alternative email downloader out there?

Well, Windows Live Mail is just a tweaked version of Windows Mail ...

My wife still uses OE. She can't get on with thunderbird or Windows Live Mail so she's still stuck on XP with OE. I actually prefer OE to Outlook. You would have thought that Outlook is a superior product but in terms of user interface, but the rules on filters are a lot simpler to set on OE.

OE was great until something went wrong. Big problem then. It really is time to move on - XP, OE, etc.

Just curious xwb, what is wrong with thunderbird that your wife can't use it. Everyone I know that has used it has loved it.

I would second that suggestion, however, its future is somewhat in doubt.

xwb, the common denominator is "English" whether the link includes AU, GB, or US, as the language (EN-).

I always loved OE - the layout. If they updated it with new guts behind the GUI, I would use it again. But if it was 2002 technology, bad idea.

Er ...Windows Live Mail layout is pretty much the same as OE

Windows Live Mail is just an upgrade of OE with a new name.

I don't know, it doesn't feel the same to me when I see it. Meh.

Is anyone actually running windows live on a windows 10 machine at the moment?

>Windows Live Mail is just an upgrade of OE

As we pointed out earlier.
