Recently we have been recieveing a few of these errors

System Process – Lost Delayed-Write Data
The system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to \S:\Server\S**\S**\W****\S***.DOC. The write operation failed, and only some of the data may have been written to the file.

Popping up on random NT workstation machines, when working on large files over our network. It is not appearing on certain programs just only on large files when reading or writing from the server.

Any suggestions?

Is it the server being slow and causing the errors?
or maybe a problem with Network speed, we are running
TC/IP at 100 across the board.

Please help

Sounds like a time out issue on the either the workstations or servers. COuld be related to the server.. ie.. cpu loading, disk-bound etc.. or could be on the net.. things like broadcast storms.. which can kill a server without hitting a high point on the 100Mbps.. the server has to process EVERY broadcast packet.. so there is a storm,. guess what the server spends it's time doing..

This may be late...but there are Microsoft issues to check on. Do a search of the Microsoft Knowledge Base using "Lost Delayed-Write Data" and you will get a list of problems that are related to this error. I have had a similar issue, however, it was only over a VPN connection.

Good Luck
