Is it possible to create a button on a handset which can be used for diverting an incoming call (ie a call that is still ringing which you want to forward without having to answer it). Thanks!!

If you use Symposium/Contact Center, then this is possible.

not after the phone rings.. after any call hits the phone, rco and fdn are in play, hunt and forward are not part of the call flow..

with symposium you can route a single number (or area code) to a phone or que BEFORE it hits a set..

Or you can just hit Not Ready and it will send the call back to queue, which is what I was implying.

Assuming of course, that the call is coming in on an Symp/CC acquired CDN and presented to the position ID of that phone.

You are correct in regards to functionality of a call placed directly to the DN of the set.

The person asking the question didn't say if this was a ACD phone or not.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

PI PEP MPLR23784 on 4.5/5.0 "Ability to ignore/release or dynamically divert calls without answering". Included as PLUGIN 207 with 5.5.

When a call is received on a set and is in a ringing state, the user can press the CFW key to divert the call to another DN or Voicemail configured against CFW DN/FDN.
