Is this even possible in Excel?

Hi all:

I want to perform the following and I don't even know if it is possible in Excel.

I have one worksheet with a list of names. I would like to have some type of formula that goes through the other 6 worksheets and tells me how many times the names from the first sheet are listed. Is this possible? If so what should I use? TIA!!!!!
