I keep getting a warning that my C drive is critically low in space and that Windows requires at least 200 megs.

I proceed in removing applications and strangely I end up with less hard drive space! I've ended up removing well over a dozen apps and I'm still ending up with only about 100 megs!

Does anyone know what exactly is the problem?

Yeah, if you have only 100mb free, you need to free up more. Empty the c:\windows\temp folder. Then empty the recycle bin. Since you are me, I recommend disabling the system restore, which will probably free up disk space.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
