Hey all, I'm getting the following message about every 20 minutes in my Exchange 2007 App Log and I'm wondering if it's something I need to fix right away or something I can just delete. I checked on EventID.net and didn't get anything there, and their link to the article on the MS site yielded an "Article Not Found" error. Here's the error I'm getting:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchange ADAccess
Event Category: Validation
Event ID: 2159
Date: 10/13/2008
Time: 12:18:33 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SRV-EXCHANGE2K7
Description:
Process edgetransport.exe (Transport) (PID=5576). Configuration object CN=Routing Group,CN=Connections,CN=Exchange Routing Group (DWBGZMFD01QNBJR),CN=Routing Groups,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Link Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=link,DC=com read from srv-DC2.link.com failed validation and will be excluded from the result set. Set event logging level for Validation category to Maximum to get additional events about each failure.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
The srv-DC2 server is my second domain controller (pretty clever naming scheme huh?) but the Exchange Server is running just fine.

Thanks,

Joe B

Was this a migration from a legacy version of Exchange? If so, looks like you didn't deommission things correctly.

58sniper, I have very little experience with Exchange (I now have $$$ budgeted for some training in '09) so I had a tech from the local support company come in and do the upgrade from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I DO remember that there was a problem that involved contacting Microsoft's tech support, but I don't know what specifically was the problem. I asked the tech and was originally told that the problem was due to the fact that I had two domain controllers in my network. That sounded bogus but he was able to fix the problem whatever it was. Are there any corrective measures I can take at this time, or do I even need to worry about it at this time? Things are working fine; I just don't like errors in my Event Logs.

Thanks,

Joe B

I'll give it a shot.
