I have a difficult data recovery puzzle before me. The missing document was never saved, however the file has 12 revisions and I believe the lost text is in one of those revisions. Please recommend or shoot down some ideas I have...
1. Download a super search engine that can look for the text directly from the sectors of the harddrive, beyond file perameters. (Or perhaps a regular recovery program that has a content search feature.)
2. Download a program that can isolate the recovery numbers from Word documents and view them.
3. Revert a portion of Windows to a specific date as you would to recover from a crash.

This is a network server at work that I cannot send to a specialist, however I could allow remote access to an IT. Thanks.

google for a program called winhex. it can search the physical drive for strings of data by words.

amother program would be dedit3. i think Sourceforge has it.

I recommend you use the data recovery software "Data Recovery Wizard". It has the "RAW Recovery" function which you want, and you might have a try to find the data you lost. GOOD LUCK!
