Is there any way to allow port 80 for " but disable file downloads or plugins from websites? In other words, can I permit only web viewing without any downloads of any kind?

Is streaming video/audio still available by allowing port 80?

Thanks for your response...

Hi,
Unfortunaltely most streaming video runs on port 80. For example media player uses port 80. The only way to restrict downloading is to setup a proxy server such as win200 or linux(squid) in which you can redirect streaming video to any port you want and then you just block that port.

WHat i do is check my logs for people listening to radio and stuff like that. I deny the ip address of these sites. There are a million of them, but people in my building always went to the same for the most part and i noticed a huge decrease in bandwidth when i did it.

Hope this helps.
