Yes, they make a version of the server that runs on Linux however after repeated called to Pervasive, they inform me that there is no CLIENT for linux. So you can store your data on the Linux machine but you have to use a Windows based workstation to read/add/update it. How rediculous is that?

I looked up the website anxious to see the client. While it will work its not what I had in mind. In despiration I had already written a perl module that did the same thing. It would submit the query to a WINxx machine via socket calls and then that machine (who has an actual pervasive client on it) would make the call and return the results. Not the prettiest nor fastest of solutions. Not to mention the fact that you need an extra machine to get the job done.
I appreciate the tip. If you find any more clients in the future please post them here. I keep hoping that Pervasive will come to thier senses about a Linux client. Heck, I would be willing to write a client for Linux if they would share some low level details on what the requirements of the client are.
