I'd like to be able to export an Access report intact (with any graphics, charts and text formatting) into a document suitable for attaching to an email (that can be viewed by the recipient). Has anyone seen a utility that will do that?
I decided to mark this question with a star, let alone any response, because this would truly be a gem. I've needed this recently myself and what a find it would be.
The two ways that come to mind are snapshot type reports (.snp) and Adobe Acrobat files (.pdf). You can find many threads here by searching for these terms....
Thanks for the tips, guys! I tried Stephen Lebans' utility. It works great! I haven't been able to get it to work though unless I include his modules in my DB. I set the reference to his MDE file, but I get code errors (classes not defined) unless I import the modules. The problem with this is the DB size increases significantly, even after compacting. Possibly his definitions are "Private"?
Any reason you don't want to use Snapshot Viewer as CosmoKramer suggested. It's already installed of most current MS Office pc's and is available as a free download for those who do not have it. It is simple to use and does exactly what you want. See
I had never heard of the .snp format before. I just looked at the link. It's amazing how little we know sometimes! Will definitely give it a try. Thanks!!
Yeah, we e-mail most of our reports out also. I ahve found that the SNP works great. If your users are running Windows XP, they have the viewer already, if they are running any other OS, then just go to microsoft.com and download it. it works great..I've been very pelased with it, and you dont have to worry about coding anything.
