Is there an Exchange Equivalent on Linux / Unix ?

I'm intrested in setting up an Exchange type systems on a linux box. This the softwre out there that will act like Exchange. Public and private folders and the like.

if you meen for forwarding / relaying / delivering mail then you could use fetchmail - with other support applications.

have a look at the post in this forum titled ...

'what pc clients would you recommend with sendmail?'

the configuration i suggested here works fine!

If you are looking for the all the fluff that Exchange has -- there are a couple out there, one is phpGroupware, another is phpProjekt, a third (this one is not free) Cybozu. The Cybozu looks pretty cool although I haven't played with it too much.
