Hi all,

Is there an editor like Frontpage for creating PHP/MySql based sites? I really no little about either language but need to make a simple site utilizing php/mysql features. If anyone knows a program that does this please let me know. I appreciate your help and thanks for taking the time to read this :)

I would think that in your case Dreamweaver from Macromedia is a good option.
Try googling also for PHP editors, and you'll find lots.

However, if your looking fro something that will aid you in coding, and create the interactions between Msyql and PHP then Dreamweaver fits the bill.

Note of caution, Dreaweaver is not free.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Which version of dreamweaver do you suggest that can interact between php and mysql? Thanks for a response. :)

P.S. Can i actually create the mysql takeles and such in dreamweaver? Or do i need a seperate program for that?

Any newer version of dreamwever, from 4 to MX will do it well.

As for the tables, Mysql usually comes with an Admin app, that helps you create the tables easily without any programming. You just point and click. It also has everything you need to create users, and permissions for each.

Probably not what you want to hear and some will disagree, but I'd offer a word of caution - you're better off trying to learn how to code PHP using MySQL by hand first before even attempting anything using WYSIWYG like Dreamweaver.

If/when something goes wrong you won't know how to fix it unless you understand the code that Dreamweaver generates on your behalf.

A bit of investment now will save you a heck of a lot of time later.

I agree With Knoxville, it's better to try to learn it first, rather than have the APP do it for you, and then not know what the heck it is doing with a bunch of strange statements.

Try to learn the basics, so that you can understand what Dreamweaver is actually coding for You.

Still Dreaweaver does cover everything you want.
