Is there a way to find out the number of drives in each silo by using Netbackup commands or somethign else?

Not all drives may be seen by NetBackup. Some could be part of another backup solution. NetBackup only knows about the drives it can see.

If you are using ACSLS then you can run in cmd_proc

ACSSA> query drive all

Just because the VERITAS documentation states something as certain, that does not make it a fact and that is truth.

what os are you running?

you can use the scan cmd to see what drives are able seen by the server that is controlling you robotic. and obvious the device monitor thru the gui will tell you drive NBU currently has configured
