Hi,

I would like to track the number of print jobs and pages printed for every user of the domain. Anyway to do so without buying a new software or getting the RC2????

thx

You can turn on print logging, but you're going to have to go into the event logs and count the print jobs. You may also be able to set print job auditing up using a groupd policy, but I haven't tried it.

Hi,

ty Wanguy2k. I guess I'll be able to create a programme to extract usefull information from that log. My only question is how to turn it on?

thx

In the properties of each printer select the auditing tab and tick the boxes you want.
No way to do it globally for all printers though that I know of, although someone may.

You can turn on print logging for all printers installed on a server by opening the Printers and Faxes icon on the server. Then choose File, Server Properties, and click the Advanced tab.

By the way, you might want to limit the size of your event logs, or save them to a different location periodically and clear them, because they're going to get huge.

Allright,

Thx a bunch guys, that will be very usefull to us

Best regards,
