hi,
is there a way to recover / undelete files that were deleted in cmd window? my son deleted some files from a directory. and we can't find them in the recyble bin?
thanks.

If they were .exe, .dll, or .sys files, System Restore might get them back for you.

Data files are a harder proposition. Do you have any backups?

Third party recovery tools are a possibility, but success is not always achieved. Meanwhile, the more the drive is used the harder the job.

Data recovery.

PC Inspector (free)

Plenty of other recovery software listed here.

All the best.

...or 'handyrecovery.exe'. I haven't used it much but when I did, it worked.

thanks everybody.
this is good information. i downloaded freeundelete. disappointing results. it showed nothing on a 80 gig drive. i'll try other suggestions.
thanks again.
