Is there a way to eliminate a desired colour in a certain area? 2

for example I have a picture where somebody is wearing a red jersy. I want to make the red in his jersy white. thnx alot for the help.
 
Try going to select>colour range change the select to Sampled colours then click on the colour you want to select.
This should select it along with other stuff. If you play around with it by moving the fuzziness then you should get it very close.
you will also have to go in and fine tune you selection.
I like to use the Quickmask feature.

or what u can do is just make a selection of a the red jersy with a laso tool and change its hue... to bring it to ur desired color.
