is there a way to disable a firewall????

You can't really disable the firewall...or else you couldn't get out to the internet. As with a majority of corporations, ports used for streaming video may be disabled or could be configured outside of the standard.
You probably need to talk to the firewall admin and see if there are any available ports for streaming media. If so, you could then configure the "media player" to use those ports.
