What I want to do is give my user as much information as possible when choosing a line of business. I ultimately want them to choose the “C level” but I want it to look like a hierarchical view in the drop down menu.

example: I want them to choose Inpatient Hospice-3175, but I would like my view to be similar to the below in a drop down menu.

I hope I explained this clearly

ACUTE CARE NURSING-300
Med/Surg Nursing-3000
Med/Surg Nursing-300C
Specialty Nursing-3100
Specialty Nursing (Other)-310C
Oncology-3110
Med/Surg and Oncology-3120
Pediatrics-3145
Inpatient Hospice-3175
Palliative Care-3180
Nursing Support-3200
Nursing Support (Other)-320C
Observation-3210
Patient Transport-3230
IV Therapy-3240
Intermediate Nursing-3300
Intermediate Nursing-330C
Critical Care Nursing-3400
Critical Care Nursing (Other)-340C
Neonatal/ Nursery ICU-3485
Labor and Delivery-3500
Labor and Delivery (Other)-350C
Newborn Nursery-3525
EMERGENCY SERVICES-380
Emergency Services-3800
Emergency Services-380C
BEHAVIORAL SERVICES-410
Peds/Adolescent Psychiatric In-4100
Peds/Adolescent Psychiatric In-410C
Gero-Psych-4110
Gero-Psych-411C
Psychiatric-4150
Psychiatric-415C
Chemical Dependency-4250
Chemical Dependency-425C

I believe you are wanting to create a dynamic cascading parameter, so that the report is filtered on the third value - in your example, Inpatient Hospice-3175.

Is that correct? If so, what version of CR are you using? What is your backend database?

It would be a little more efficient if you were able to write a query that returns all the values, such as:

Code:
Acute Care Nursing Med/Surg Nursing-3000 Med/Surg Nursing-300C
Acute Care Nursing Specialty Nursing-3100 Specialty Nursing (Other)-310C
Acute Care Nursing Specialty Nursing-3100 Oncology-3110

Etc. etc.

Is that an option for you?
