Is there a tool to send a mac address to return the IP address. I have a rouge piece of kit on my network and I know it's mac address how can I find out what it's ip or hostname are?

Can you use the DHCP snap in for the mmc console?

When you list address leases using this plug in it lists various info including the Unique Id's which is the mac address. You can simply search down the list until you find the one you want.

Then you can:

nbtstat -A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

To return the Netbios name table.
