Is there a tool to find/remove user from multiple folders 1

I've just taken over a Win2K data shared server. Is there a tool or a way to find what folders as specific user has rights to, and if necessary remove that user from folders.
The user was a the top level and was removed but I am now finding the user has rights to specific folders buried further in the shared data

You could use dumpsec from

to list out all of the permissions.

you can use the SHOWACLS command to find out which groups have rights to a folder structure and then use UserManager to remove the user from those particular groups

I think you can use CACLS.EXE (

from the command line to do that as it comes with Windows...use wildcards to denote multiples. There are other free permission setting/remoiving apps out there including SETACL (

I use XCACLs which is free from Microsoft. You can dump the report to a text fiel and search for your users login name easily to find what they have access to.
