Is there a sql script I can run that will tell me what select statements are running on a particular database. I'm trying to find out if a badly written select statement is causing sql to take up 100% utilisation of the cpu.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Your best route to find the rouge app may be with the use of Profiler. I am not aware of an SP that will generate the info you are seeking.
