IS THERE A similar FUCTION TO "NVL"

i am getting null values returned in my sql for certain critria not all. I want the values to default to zero. Is the a way to do this (nvl ie. informix,sybase,oracle would solve this).

Use coalesce. Coalesce is a standard SQL function which NVL is not.
