Hi,
I'm building an online User Guide which includes .avi demo files. In order to view the demos, the user must first download a small codec (approx 150Kb).

Is there any way I can set it up so that the user is prompted to download the codec automatically as soon as he/she enters the main site? also..is there a way of checking to see if the user already has the codec installed (by checking a specific path on the client machine), so that only those who haven't, are prompted to download..

Any help/hints/solutions will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance
